This week for my work of the week i am using my handwriting because i took my time doing it. This week for my work of the week I am using my speech because I think I had a very good topic mine was about would you rather live in town or country. GOOD TOPIC: I think my topic was a good topic because no one else had a topic like mine. GOOD OPENING-CAPTURE ATTENTION: I think my speech opening was ok because but I think I could of done better by starting of with something more interesting. GOOD ENDING: I think my ending was pretty good because I was asking them a question so they would be thinking of that afterwards. ORGANISATION: My organisation I think was pretty good because I think I stayed on topic the whole time. EXPRESSION IN VOICE: I think my expression in my voice was alright but I think I may of stayed in the same tone throughout my speech. EYE CONTACT: I think my eye contact wasn’t that good because i stared at the cue cards most of the time. LOUND AND CLEAR VOICE: Yes i think I did have a loud and clear voice because I asked some people that were listening. SPECKING SLOWLY ENOUTH TO UNDERSTAND: I think I did speck pretty slowly because I was tacking my time. GOOD POSTURE: I think my posture was pretty good but I could of done better. NOT SHUFFLING, FIDDLING: I think I stood kind of straight but I no I was not fiddling through my speech. PAUSING FOR EFFECT: I don’t think I paused at all. This week for my work of the week I am using my story writing because i think I put interesting words in it. She cautiously walked up to the door. She knocked on the old rotting door. No one answered she turned around people were starting to look at her suspiciously. She was shakng inside but she was determined to find out the truth. She knocked again. Still no answer. She looked around their was just a garden that looked more like a jungle she looked up she saw a broken window she thought she saw something m0ving so she turned around and sprinted away. My work of the week is my writing because I think I had good describing words in my story “Ewww”. What was that. “I screamed”. I ran back to Mum and Dad and told them to come look. Dad and my uncle Ike came to see what it was. It was a dead fish. My uncle Ike picked it up and quickly through it in the water. Then we started casualy walking back up the beach. Our feet kept sinking into the sand so we started walking back to my Mum and my aunty Kelly. Saskia, Rhianen, Cody, Chloe and I went to go play quietly in the water while the adults were talking by the buses. We were planing on going fishing the next day but guess what it rained. So we packed up and went back to my uncles house and stayed the night there This is my basic facts score I normaly get a score of around 95 out of 100 This is my spelling score I normaly get a score of around 20 or 18 out of 100
My work of the week is my writing because I took my time and i went over and over it to get it just right and now i think it is really good Splash!!! What was that? Oh my gosh. John had just fallen through the trees down a ditch and into the water. Me and chloe stumbled through the bush trying to find John. We could hear him screeming. I saw the bank John had fallen down. It looked about ten feet deep with jagged rocks at the bottom. We ran to get grandad and told him John had fallen down the bank.andad came running. We couldnt see John at first but then we saw that he had made his way across the river to the other side of the bank and then he carefully made his way back across the river and up the bank.
This term for theme we are researching plants.
Yesterday we disected a flower here are some of our pictures.
We are missing one thing it is the sepal.
A sepal is the part of the flower Here is the petals- that keeps the petals on it.
On a flower petals attract insects one of those insects in a bee and bees take pollen to help the flowers grow. Next is the style- A style raises the stigma away from the Ovary to decrease the likelihood of pollen contamination. It varies in length. Next is a stigma- A stigma is covered in a sticky substance that the pollen grains will adhere to. Over view My experiment was to see if plants needed compost to grow. Picture of plant in soil…

And finally our plant in ash…
Results… Our results wern’ that good because as you can see the soil plant was the only one that grew well. The Grass plant only started to come out of it’s shell. And the ash plant did not grow at all.So I guess that plants don’t grow that quick with grass and don’t grow to well with ash. Closer observations… Our plants did not grow the same but the the lupin in soil did grow the biggest and the lupin planted in grass grew the second biiggest and the ash grew the least actually it didn’t grow at all.so I guess that soil will grow quicker. Problem… Here are some problems that we had with our plants growing. +Our first plant someone had kicked it over so we had to restart. + We think that our plants wern’t in a very good location so that is what we will improve. + We probably didn’t water our plants the same amount as each other so that may have affected the growth.
Things I would do differently next time… We would change the location instead of being beside the office we would put by the class room door. I would make sure to water both plants exactly the same and more often than we did this time. And we would make sure our calculations are more acurate than this time. Further Studies… Here are some things that I can think of that I could study on next time. + I would measure how long the roots are or how tall it gets. + And I would also study on the change in the seed if it shrinks or expands
